Rain! Tammin to Kellerberrin - 27kms
It rained during the night and stopped briefly as we were packing the tent away. It was chilly.
Then consistent rain set in.
We decided to head for the nearest town, Kellerberrin, and get a room for the night.
It was a beautiful ride, if not for the rain - flat and a few insignificant hills.
Several 'Wide Loads' on road trains had us pulling off the road quickly. We both received scrapes from our pedals in the process!
The rain stopped as we arrived in Kelleberrin soaked but cheery, only to find no rooms were available anywhere - so it's another night under canvas at the local caravan park!
We bought a few stores for lunch and dinner at the petrol station in town.
We're charging the power pack now and looking forward to a hot shower before an early dinner.
NOTE TO SELF:
1) Rural Australia shuts down on Sundays.
2) Always book rooms in advance.
The first war wounds of the trip! I bet you're getting good at setting the tent up by now... Also, you still haven't had a day off! Make sure you phone ahead tonight and book a nice comfy room in Carrabin or Southern Cross xxx
ReplyDeleteOuch! Hope that weather clears up soon - and you get a chance to rest up and get dry xx
