Madura Pass! Relaxing at Madura Roadhouse
Slept so soundly!
There was very wild weather last night - following the earlier hailstone deluge - thunder and lightning and strong winds.
So glad not to have been under canvas!
Woke up to blue skies.
The low has passed and we have a wonderful westerly - promising a good tail wind tomorrow - fingers crossed!!!!
Madura staff are under pressure, being very short staffed, but they have been so helpful.
We organized a few essentials for our getaway tomorrow, then walked up the hill to the Madura Pass Lookout.
One can view the lower woodland which drops further to the vast expanse of bare plain, dotted with the occasional shrub, which looks like bison roaming on a prairie.
The plain is what remains after, over a couple of Ice Ages, the sea has covered the area and retreated again several times.
We'll be heading that way tomorrow.
Back at the motel, we updated our blog/journal, did some preliminary packing - and checked the weather forcast for tomorrow.
Looks good so far.
Good to be under cover for the bad weather I bet. And even better to hear there might be a tail wind for the next section. Enjoy the rest of your day off! xx
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! (We still don't know how you get the energy to climb a hill on your day off)! What is dad doing with the big stick? It looks like he is about to tee off xx J&J
