We Escaped at Last! Mundaring to Northam - 58kms

It was a wild night with loud and heavy monsoon-like downpours.
By sunrise the wind had subsided and the rain had disappeared so we were off and away!
We took the highway route cycling on the road shoulder, and quickly became used to the traffic racing past.
The Golden Pipeline (carrying water to the mining towns to the east) ran alongside the highway all the way.

And - we came across our first (and only) road kill today !! The poor thing probably drowned in the downpours we've had rather than being run over!!

It was fairly heavy going. We walked quite a few hills but were rewarded with some lovely downhill runs.
There were a few light showers but lots of sunshine so thermals were quickly shed.
Arrived in Northam pretty tired.
We found our motel, moved in all our gear, then walked into town for a couple of microwave dinners.

Pleased to have left Mundaring and be on our way at last!
