Cycle Fitness not there yet! Meckering to Tammin - 47kms
Australian free camping areas always seem to be sandwiched between a major railway line and a major highway - Meckering Rose Park for example.
Road trains and long haulage trains rumbled past regularly.
Add flocks of squawking galahs settling in the nearby trees as night fell and you have the full picture of our surroundings.
Mind you, we were both too tired for any of this to bother us. We both slept well.
The road from Meckering to Tammin should have been a "walk in the park" for us ' - minimal traffic and fairly flat most of the way. But four consecutive days of cycling were beginning to take their toll on our energy reserves and a rest day was due.
We had to take brief recovery stops along the way.
There are huge wheat silos in the centre of
Tammin so we must be entering the wheat belt.
The Roadhouse had no accommodation so we camped again, using the roadhouse toilets and showers this time.
No rest day here but at least no microwave meals! Chicken and chips for dinner tonight.
Looks like you are now having good weather at last. It’s raining and grey here today. Take care , loads of love from Simon, Me & Rocco xxx
